Some manufacturers even just staple coroplast (pictured below) to the bottom of their hot tubs which is one of the cheapest things they can do.

Hot Tub with no floor at all

All of our spas start with an extra thick 1/4 inch ABS airtight floor that helps keep heat in and critters out.  This modular foundation features a rigid reinforced foot well support.  Each model has its own specific base engineered for that specific footprint.  During manufacturing, the base is coated with a layer of high density foam insulation.  Most hot tubs have either no floor at all or just a thin plastic "wrap" that is so flimsy it even gets punctured just moving the spa.
